Yoonji Lee joined Freshfields in 2020 as a trainee. She is an associate in the Dispute Resolution department in Singapore. She studied law at the University of Oxford and finished her training contract in 2022.
The training contract at Freshfields is truly one of a kind.
The London-Asia Training Contract, in particular, was a career-defining experience for me. I worked on a wide range of cases with colleagues in nine different teams across our London, Hong Kong and Singapore offices.
Freshfields’ systemic approach to training means you learn quickly.
Because of that experience, when I completed my London-Asia training contract and qualified into the dispute resolution team in Singapore, I was ready to work on complex cases at pace.
You’ll read about the work you’ve been doing in newspaper headlines.
The mandates we work on involve complex issues and unprecedented challenges. The learning curve is steep but very rewarding.
Values and principles are important at Freshfields.
In every team I have worked with, collegiality has been the underpinning culture. Everyone here is caring and supportive.
Freshfields colleagues are intelligent, talented and lovely to work with. You are intellectually stretched, but can be sure you are in safe hands.
My advice is to stay open-minded, fearless and prepare to have a blast.
