I’m currently in the equity capital markets team where I help businesses with public listings.  

Deals have tight timelines and the majority are very complex. My team does several large deals a year. We’re pioneering innovative legal structures and fixing difficult legal issues every day.   

The high-profile clients Freshfields serves don’t passively accept solutions – typically they want to work alongside their advisers. There’s a strong international component to what we do as many Chinese clients are looking abroad for fundraising and listing.  

I’ve met many inspiring people at the firm. I feel like I’m part of a family and often join events and activities in — and outside of — work. 

I’d advise new trainees to be brave and curious. Get stuck in, embrace the unknown. 

Recently, I’ve been involved in multiple global transactions. At one point, I was working on two deals with complex transaction structures that required round-the-clock attention.  

The sense of achievement from getting these over the line was amazing. The experience also helped me grow as a person.
