Christoph has vast experience representing clients in regulatory proceedings in Germany and – together with local experts – in other EU Member States and the rest of the world. In the field of Data and Technology, he litigates in front of German civil, criminal and administrative courts, including escalating matters to the European Court of Justice. The majority of his matters involve the coordination of multijurisdictional disputes together with our Data and Technology teams in Europe, the US and Asia.

- Advising on more than 10 of the ‘Big Ones’ (i.e. data incidents with more than 1 Terabyte of affected data), including dealing with regulators across the globe and related (mass) litigation.
- Advising Marriott in the global (excluding the USA) coordination of its response to the recent data breach, one of the largest incidents worldwide, including cooperation with multiple data protection authorities around the world and litigation, particularly with the UK ICO.
- Advising Motel One on a data protection incident with repercussions in Germany, the UK and Switzerland (around 6 terabytes of the client's data, approx. 26 million data records, were published on the Dark Net), including advising on the analysis of the affected data and the communication to affected customers and the press.
- Advising a leading US tech company in connection with data scraping that has resulted in both litigation and regulatory action in the UK and various countries across the EU in thousands of individual and collective claims.
