He is a very experienced lawyer advising clients on all types of real estate transactions across M&A, co-investment and development.
As Co-Head of our Global Real Assets Group, Alex regularly advises clients on real estate investment and co-investment through complex cross-border structures. He uses his deep sector knowledge across all asset classes and impressive technical skillset to advise clients with clarity to assist in navigating complicated high-value transactions.
Alex specialises in advising private capital real estate investors on the full life cycle of real estate investments, including acquisitions and disposals as well as the establishment and operation of joint ventures through complex cross-border structures and development. His work covers all sectors of real assets, including PRS, PBSA, logistics, offices, retail, healthcare and data centres.
Alex brings a proactive approach as a trusted partner to many longstanding clients, from private equity houses and funds to institutional investors and some of the world’s largest sovereign and pension funds. He is known for his commercial acumen and ability to get even the most challenging deals over the line.

- the establishment of a joint venture with a logistics developer and operator for the development of BTS logistics assets across Europe.
- the sale of its pan-European light industrial logistics portfolio to Blackstone. The portfolio was made up of 35 assets located across The Netherlands, France and Germany.
- its arrangements with Sunrise Real Estate and Panattoni for the setting up and management of two logistics platforms across Europe.
- the acquisition and subsequent disposal of a large pan European logistics portfolio.
- the acquisition of a large pan European office portfolio.
- Brookfield on:
- the acquisition from U+I Group of a 50 per cent stake in Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire.
- its acquisition of a majority stake in a portfolio of industrial logistics assets in Germany and Austria from Garbe and its ongoing joint venture and management arrangements for developing further properties.
- its acquisition of International Campus Group, the European student accommodation provider.
- the acquisition of a majority 89.9 per cent stake in a portfolio of German residential housing with assets across Germany, together with their go-forward joint venture and management arrangements.
- TPG Real Estate Partners on:
- its joint venture with M&G Real Estate and its subsequent acquisition and financing of a large portfolio of UK logistics properties.
- its acquisition and subsequent sale of A&O Hostels (a hostels business with a large portfolio across Europe) to funds managed by Stepstone and Proprium.
- On the public takeover of Intervest Offices and Warehouses.
- the acquisition from Goodman Group, financing and subsequent disposal to Brookfield of the Arlington Business Parks Platform.
- its acquisition from Arcapita of the logistics business P3 and its subsequent disposal to GIC.
- Blackstone on the regearing and subsequent sale of seven holiday parks in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, leased to Pierre and Vacances.
- Americold Realty Trust on the acquisition of Argo Merchants Group, the global cold storage business, from an investor group led funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management for US $1.74bn and on its bolt on acquisition of Bowman Stores Limited for £74m.
- UBS on its acquisition of BOMI group, the multi-national cold store logistics business across Europe and Latin America.
- Bruntwood SciTech, the specialist property provider to support growth in life sciences and tech sectors on its £500m fund raise and reorganisation.
- Oxford University on its ten-year £4bn joint venture programme with L&G to develop research facilities and student and staff accommodation at the University.
- Thomas White Oxford on the formation of a c.£700m development joint venture with Canadian-based Cadillac Fairview and Stanhope for the development of Oxford North, Oxford, UK.
