Ian is an Associate in our Dispute Resolution practice based in Washington, DC. 

Prior to joining Freshfields, Ian served as an assistant to Dr. Nilüfer Oral, Co-Chair of the Study Group on sea-level rise in relation to international law, at the United Nations International Law Commission in Geneva, Switzerland, as a Student Advisor to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Palau to the United Nations in New York City, and as a research intern for a trade controls consultancy firm. 

Ian has authored academic and journalistic publications on national security, U.S. sanctions, the World Trade Organization treaties, and United Nations proceedings. He also wrote his undergraduate thesis on U.S. export controls.
