Freshfields advises TUI on sustainability-linked €1.89bn revolving credit facilities
Global law firm Freshfields has advised TUI AG on the conclusion of sustainability-linked revolving credit facilities in an aggregate amount of €1.89 billion. The facilities are provided by an international banking syndicate and have a tenor of five years.
The financing is sustainability-linked, which means the financing costs are linked to the fulfilment of certain key performance indicators (KPIs) in relation to emission reductions, in line with TUI Group’s Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)-approved emissions reduction targets.
The Freshfields team was being led by Partner Frank Laudenklos as well as Principal Associate Dennis Chinnow with support by Associate Alexander Bräuer (all Finance, Frankfurt). The team also included Partner Martin Schiessl, Principal Associate Christian Schmidt and Associate Daniel Renner (all Tax, Frankfurt), Partner Deborah Janssens, Counsel Wouter Van Der Veken and Associate Emma Tielemans (all Finance, Brussels), Head of English Law Finance Anouschka Zagorski (Frankfurt) and Trainees Megan McDonnell (Vienna) and Georgina Baker (all English Law Finance, London).
Inhouse at TUI AG, the project was led on the legal side by Marcus Beger (Director Group Corporate Law), Mark Hoepfner (Senior Legal Counsel) and Dr Sabine Lieberam-Schmidt (Senior Legal Counsel).
