About Thomas Wallis

With an engaging commercial mindset, Tom advises sponsors, borrowers and lenders on finance law issues.  

Tom's primary areas of focus are real estate financing and corporate treasury work.  He brings an ability to cut through the most complex deals and to navigate his clients to successful closings.

Acquisition and event driven finance is a common element of many of Tom’s deals, and he has experience of both public and private acquisition processes.

Recent work

Tom advises a range of companies and institutions on their financing needs, and a selection of his recent work includes:

  • Advising TPG and M&G on the financing of c.£700m of light industrial assets in the UK through a JV structure.
  • Advising a Sovereign Wealth Fund on the acquisition of a major asset within the residential sector.
  • Advising Pension Funds on the >£1bn development financing (senior and mezzanine) of a significant UK asset.
  • Advising elements of the Steinhoff group on their financing and lender management issues.
  • Advising ICG as sponsor on the financing of their sale and leaseback of Morrisons' distribution network across the UK.
  • Advising AXA and HSBC in relation to the financing of the intuMK shopping centre.
  • Advising Pandox AB on the acquisition financing of three aparthotels with 503 keys in London.
  • Advising Ares on the financing life cycle of a major pan European portfolio of industrial assets.
  • Advising Compass Group plc on its syndicated and bilateral facilities.
  • Advising KKR on financings relating to hotel and industrial portfolios in Spain.
  • Advising The Rank Group plc on their loan financing matters.
  • Advising a Joint Venture on the financing of part of the Oslo fashion district.
  • Advising Save the Children International on financing arrangements within the organisation.
