About James Raeside
James is a senior associate in our dispute resolutions practice in London, specialising in group litigation and regulatory risk management advice to global companies with a focus on product liability, consumer protection, human rights, and environmental concerns.
James has experience in range of different group litigation structures including complex multijurisdictional mass claims, resulting in a breath of knowledge incorporating product recalls, regulatory dialogues, parliamentary enquiries, and third-party relationship management (including suppliers).
James’ work has a growing focus on environmental, climate change and wider ESG issues, including biodiversity value chain liabilities and risk mapping.
James joined the firm in 2014 and has worked in our London and Berlin offices.

-Acting for a multinational automotive manufacturer in relation to regulatory issues and civil proceedings arising out of allegations concerning the affected vehicles’ emissions.
-Defending a large multinational retailer in relation to threatened UK High Court class action with respect to supply chain liabilities.
-Advising a healthcare company in its defence of product liability claims in UK High Court litigation.
-Advising clients in relation to appearances before, and submissions to, British Parliamentary Select Committees.
-Assisting a large multinational retailer on threatened biodiversity value-chain claims and Directors Duties allegations.
-Assisting clients with navigating supply chain obligations including deforestation regulations.
-Advising clients in relation to a variety of product liability issues (including product recalls) and legislative developments.
-Discussing potential biodiversity related litigation and regulatory risks with automotive clients and sovereign wealth funds.
