Maxim is a member of our global transactions group. He advises clients primarily on domestic and international M&A transactions as well as general corporate and capital markets law matters.  

He speaks German, English and Russian.

Maxim's recent work includes advising:

  • Bucherer on its sale to the leading Swiss luxury watch manufacturer
  • thyssenkrupp on the carve-out and divestment of its mining business to FLSmidth
  • AGC Glass Europe on the acquisition of the remaining shares in Interpane, a leading European glass manufacturer, from Helgejos Glass
  • Etex on the acquisition of URSA, a leading international manufacturer of thermal and acoustic insulation materials, from Xella/Lone Star
  • Gategroup on the spin-off of pension liabilities and plan assets as well as the subsequent divestment of the so-called pensioner firms to Funding Solutions
  • Sandvik on the acquisition of the Portugal-based Frezite Group, a tool manufacturer for metal and wood applications
  • Deutsche Telekom on the conclusion of an investment agreement with Japanese SoftBank and the envisaged increase of its stake in T-Mobile US
  • Volkswagen on a tender offer (by a Volkswagen-led consortium) to acquire Europcar

Qualifications

Education:

  • University of Bonn (Law)
  • Legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, the German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce in London (UK) and the German Embassy in Wellington (New Zealand)
  • University of Hannover (Dr. iur.) 

Professional qualifications:

  • Admitted to the German bar (Rechtsanwalt)
