About Pauline Fliche
Pauline is a counsel in the firm’s Antitrust, Competition and Trade Group based in Tokyo. Her practice covers all aspects of EU competition law issues, including merger control, antitrust advisory work and behavioral investigations. She also manages the growing impact of foreign direct investment and foreign subsidies regulations on deals for Japanese and global clients in various sectors, including industrial, chemicals, life sciences and tech. She has worked in Paris, Washington D.C. and now Tokyo.
Pauline speaks French and English.
Prior to joining Freshfields’ Tokyo office, Pauline worked at Paris office of a leading international law firm.

- Advising many clients with regard to feasibility studies and merger control or FDI proceedings in Europe, the US and Asia
- Advising companies in foreign subsidies regulation filings in the EU
- Advising companies in filing antitrust complaints or leniency applications before various regulators
- Assisting companies in market investigations before various regulators
- Advising companies in cartel investigation and subsequent appeals before the EU courts*
